I noticed several months ago a slight tick and a little rough idle but paid no attention to it. 2012 Dodge Challenger 3.6L V6 Pentastar has some sort of problem when they were built. No worries powertrain warranty 5 years 100k miles. Vehicle has only 27K however the slight tick started around 25K miles. Don't ignore the signs and take in.

If a rocker issue was to develop, it would be covered as long as the vehicle was under the powertrain warranty coverage only since no recall or warranty extension has been issued.

Nuke. The HO (High Output) part of the 3.5L HO designation for those engine refers to this particular incarnation of Dodge's 3.5L engine design I believe. It was the 3rd or 4th generation of that 3.5L engine, which originally came to life almost 20 years earlier. Over the years, different aspects were redesigned and implemented for more power

Well, All I can say is I had (5) five Wranglers with the 3.6L V6. All 2012's had bad heads, 2013 had sand in coolant, and 2014 has issues with oil cooler. Others I know had leaking real seals and cam bearing issues. My 5.7L Ram is without issues and my 6.4L SP is in-transit and hopefully trouble free.

798 posts · Joined 2011. #23 · Mar 19, 2021. Problem is a resonator and muffler delete was asked and both will sound bad. I have yet to hear a significantly deeper sounding aftermarket exhaust system. The aggressive sound is easy, the deeper, much harder on any V6.
