In raw speed it's not as fast as the 8800GTX, but anything programmed for the Xbox360 will be much more optimized than a PC counterpart.
There were definitely a few games that ran better on PS3, but it was just as common to find games where there was a huge gap between Xbox 360 and PS3, including games running at 60FPS on Xbox 360 and 30FPS on PS3.

IMO 10 is the best on this gen and maybe the best Madden ever. The gameplay was smooth, the TV style presentation was by far the best on this gen.

From a developer's POV, PS3 was absolutely hard to develop games for. They didn't even release games like Rise of the Tomb Raider and The Crew on PS3 while they were released on the 360.
